Meet Tyler Rivenbark, Project Lead, for Tree of Life coming to Black Rock City, 2018.  This major art build will be 110 feet tall and will have a central atrium as the trunk that will invite participants to experience the wonders of the tree and reveal its story as we explore its interior and exterior.  Tyler talks both technically and esoterically about his project. The building stages are getting underway soon. and is one of this year’s BRC Honoraria Grant projects. The Solacii – A Sacred Space at Radical Ritual

The Solacii – A Sacred Space at Radical Ritual

by Tigre Bailando & Anastazia Louise Aranaga

Join Super Suz while she talks with three artists who are related through their deeply creative practice as they talk about their art project called The Solacii.  It combines elements of immersive architecture, textiles and sound design.  The Solacii is a 21’ tall sculpture of an ancient mythical being with many hands and faces which opens its body as a womb-like sanctuary for participants  to use for meditation, intimate gatherings, and personal ritual.

David Hill talks with Photographer, Leori Gill

Guest Host, David Hill, talks with Leori Gill about photography

David Hill is back with more Burning Man photography talk.  This time, we talk with photographer, Leori Gill.  She started with black and white film back in 1996.  Recently, she has been  photographing large art projects the start to right down to the finished burn on the playa.    You may have even seen her photograph on one of Burning Man’s Thank You cards.  Or, maybe you had your photo take at the Just Shoot Me in the Dust Photo Booth at Ebb and Glow Village.  If you’ve recently attended a swanky event in San Francisco, Leori may have captured your swankiness so that years from now,  you can show your grandchildren just how amazing you were. Leori talks about photography and a few other topics on this podcast.   Correction: The reference to the BM holiday card was meant to be a thank you card.

Dazzle! Brings it to BRC

Meet Dazzle!, a 14 year burner who has been bringing you BRC Wheels on Meals for the last 7 years to feed the art build crews of Black Rock City during build week armed with a microwave on a flat-bed trailer and a spork.  Her recent project, Stair Ramps to Heaven, is expanding and she’ll tell you how you can help make  ramps to help mobility challenged burners get on art cars.  Lastly, she’ll talk to us about a new game for the playa that will have you spinning in circles trying to get you and your camp mates out of camp and finally on to the playa.  It’s non-stop action with Dazzle! She’s great at figuring out how to bring her projects out to the playa.
